Skiving Does Get Awfully Lonely Sometimes, 2012
This picture was drawn in Costa at Waterstone's during a day off college in October 2012. I was feeling very bad at the time and had to take several days off college because I felt so awful. I am rubbish at drawing noses.
Untitled + untitled, 2012
These two drawings were done in my spare time and portray my emotions concerning Gary Numan. In the first one I'm wearing a Damned t-shirt I don't actually own, mainly because I didn't know what to put on my own t-shirt so I just did whatever. In the second one I seem to be floating off the ground because I'm terrible at drawing like a grown-up artist.
Untitled, 2012
I drew this picture on the 31st of October 2012, and it's personally one of my favourites. It's vaguely inspired by Disney villains and the punk/goth subcultures.
Teen Angst, 2012
Siouxsie, 2012
This is a pencil drawing of Siouxsie Sioux, done in June 2012 or so. I drew this after I realised I hadn't drawn Siouxsie in a while, and I wanted to see if I still could.
Self-portrait, 2012
This is a self-portrait from the beginning of June 2012, when I still had massive hair. It's me looking a bit ill in a Gary Numan t-shirt.

Mia, 2012
This is a pen and pencil drawing of the character Mia from the TV show Hit & Miss. Portrayed by Chloë Sevigny, Mia is a pre-op transsexual hitwoman who discovers she has a child with her former lover, who has died of cancer by the time the story unfolds. I'm quite pleased with this drawing, even if it doesn't really look that much like Chloë Sevigny.
Since Yesterday, 2012
This is a page entirely dedicated to the 80's pop duo Strawberry Switchblade. Here I have drawn a small picture of Jill Bryson and Rose McDowall and a large scale picture of Rose. The text 'when tomorrow comes you'll wish you had today' comes from the song Since Yesterday, which was a big hit for Strawberry Switchblade in 1984.
Blur, 2012
I am always trying to broaden my artistic horizons, mainly by drawing different people and experimenting with new techniques. For this particular drawing I have done the former. It is a drawing of the britpop band Blur.
WIWY, 2012
This is an attempt at understanding facial anatomy and an attempt at taking the piss out of my dear sister.

Monkeyland, 2012
This drawing is inspired by the song Monkeyland by The Chameleons and deals with my feelings of isolation and disillusionment within my own city. Wonky anatomy.
Ocean, 2012
I think I might have drawn this in the summer holidays of 2012, but I'm not too sure. It was inspired by the song Ocean by Dead Can Dance.
Play It Again, 2012
This drawing was made during the 2012 Easter holidays, shortly after having watched part of the Woody Allen film Play It Again, Sam. It deals with my emotions after separating from my first girlfriend whom I had a long-distance relationship with between December 2011 and January 2012, and, of course, my fears that I will live and die alone.
I Am Divine!, 2012
I made this t-shirt as part of my current unit, 'communication through art and design'. On the front is a photograph of Divine, a famous drag queen who was the star of several John Waters films such as Pink Flamingos, Female Trouble and Hairspray. I used t-shirt transfer paper to transfer the image onto the t-shirt.
doodles, 2012
Another series of drawings made on holiday in France. There's a drawing of Peter Murphy from Bauhaus, another 'ideal me', and Bender.
Mama June, 2012
This drawing was made on holdiay in France in 2012. It depicts 'Mama' June Shannon, the mother of child beauty pageant contestant Alana Thompson, who also goes by the nickname Honey Boo Boo. I don't even know why I drew this, honestly.
Ideal me, 2012
This is another 'ideal me' drawing, done in September 2012. I used a photo of my own face in profile as a reference for this drawing. I like to think that I'm getting closer to my current 'ideal me', now that I have my desired haircut (a deathhawk), now all I need is my testosterone prescription.
The Passion of Lovers, 2012
This is one of my favourite drawings I've done since starting my second year at my college - I'm really pleased with how I used tone to make it seem more 'real'. The text comes from the lyrics of The Passion of Lovers by the band Bauhaus.
GOFF, 2012
Another attempt at drawing faces in profile. I really like trad goths so that's why I draw them a lot.
Reformed-scene-kid Smiths fan, 2012
This drawing was made during the summer holidays of 2012 and depicts my distaste at the majority of the fanbase of the band The Smiths - mostly the pretentious teenagers - and people who latch onto a band to seem more interesting. I sketched it out in pencil first, then went over it with a black pen. The t-shirt this character is wearing comes from the artwork of the album Hatful of Hollow by The Smiths.
Reading, 2012
This collage was made during the summer holidays of 2012, and shows the lead singers of most of the bands I saw at Reading Festival on the Friday.
Clockwise from left: Josh Franceschi, You Me At Six; Alice Glass, Crystal Castles; Jack Steadman, Bombay Bicycle Club; Liam Cormier, Cancer Bats, Hayley Williams, Paramore; Robert Smith, The Cure; Tom DeLonge, Angels and Airwaves
Untitled, 2012
I haven't really looked at this image in a long time, so it's kind of easy to forget how much I like it. It was somewhat inspired by the music of The Chameleons, parrticularly from the album Script of the Bridge.
Replicas, 2012
This pencil sketch was made in June 2012 as an attempt to duplicate the back cover of the album Replicas by Tubeway Army. I don't usually copy directly from existing images unless I'm using references to create an original piece of work, but I'm surprisingly really pleased with the way this turned out.
androgyne, 2012
This drawing was made sometime in June or July 2012. I usually have a lot of trouble drawing faces in profile, but I think I managed it very well here.
idk, 2012
This pen sketch was simply made in an attempt to avoid same-face syndrome, and to once again depict a different body type and ethnicity.

Simon, 2012
This is another drawing of Simon Gallup, the bassist in The Cure, drawn away from home in the Easter holidays. I liked this drawing enough to stick it in my college sketchbook, and at one point I rendered it in SAI Paint Tool.
Is She Really Going Out With Him?, 2012
With this drawing I attempted to depict a different body shape to the ones I usually draw - usually the people I draw are quite thin. The text comes from the song 'New Rose' by The Damned.

Robert, 2012
This is a drawing of Robert Smith, the lead singer, guitarist and main songwriter in The Cure. For some time now I've always looked up to Robert Smith and one of my main life goals is to make a decent drawing of him - or several. First I sketched it out in pencil, then went over it in black and red pen. I would say this is one of my favourite things I've ever drawn, mostly because I persevered with it and created something to be proud of.
Cats, 2012
This drawing was made sometime in the spring of 2012. I used a close-up photograph of my cat Ozzy as a reference, and I feel that it's the most truthful thing I've ever made. Unfortunately other drawings can be visibly seen through the paper.
Dear God, I Hate Myself, 2012
This is a self portrait done in March 2012 entirely using a black pen, and the text comes from the Xiu Xiu song 'Dear God, I Hate Myself'. At this point in my life I'd completely given up trying to fight my depression, and I felt like I was spiralling further into it day by day no matter what I did. It's not supposed to be a flattering drawing.
Goo, 2012
This drawing was made in February 2012 and is inspired by the Sonic Youth song 'My Friend Goo'. I had quite a difficult time getting the anatomy right, particularly on the legs, though I think I managed to do a good job in the end. I never usually colour anything in, so this is a first.

Support the strike, 2011
I can't remember exactly when I drew this picture, but it must have been during November or December 2011. Politically I have always considered myself as someone who leans to the left, and I'd say this is my first attempt at a political cartoon. It does seem a bit entry level, but it's the best I can do as my interest in politics fluctuates.
