The trials and tribulations of a teenage goth doing an Art BTEC, 2011

This self-portrait was made sometime in September or October 2011, and depicts my state of mind at the time. I have mostly utilised my time on the course to develop and refine my drawing skills, especially in the human form, and I think that since I made this drawing I have gotten much better at art.

Lots of newspapers stuck on top of one another, 2011

I created this piece at the beginning of my course in September 2011, utilising bits of old newspapers and PVA glue. I would call it an experiment in texture building for the sake of texture building.

Cat food, 2011

I made this photomontage piece in September 2011, using images from newspapers, magazines and the internet. It is vaguely inspired by Richard Hamilton's Just what is it that makes today's homes so different, so appealing? and also makes use of Letraset Dry Transfers and different types of coloured paper.
